Rustrol® Systems, DC-Decoupler
Model: DCD

Interprovincial/International Corrosion Control manufactures Rustrol® Systems for World Wide Distribution. The Rustrol® solid-state DC-Decoupler Model: DCD are an essential component for safely isolating cathodically protected structures (i.e. Pipelines, On-Grade or Buried Storage Tanks, etc.).

Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD device is designed to protect personnel and equipment from electrical disturbances. The DC-Decoupler Model: DCD blocks DC current associated with cathodically protected structures, and provides an effective and continuous conductive path to the Utilities Grounding/Earthing Network for all other forms of Electrical Exposures, such as:

  • Lightning/Surge Currents
  • AC Fault Currents
  • AC Induced Voltages
  • Over-Voltage Protection.

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler, Model: DCD enhances the Rustrol® Product Line by providing economical alternative for light/moderate (i.e. non-continuous) exposure of Lightning, AC Mitigation/Discharge and AC Fault Current.

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD is a recent development to the Rustrol® Product Line. The DC-Decoupler‘s unique features are based on the proven Rustrol® technology utilizing solid-state design and superior test proven, quality components throughout the construction. The standard DCD Product Line provides an economical engineered solution in a compact, lightweight, ready to mount assembly.

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD is innovative by design, whereby DC isolation is achieved and AC coupling is maintained, ensuring electrical grounding criteria remains effective.

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD is capable of reducing the potential difference across isolating flange assemblies and/or monolithic isolating joints to well below the industry accepted criteria (i.e. <10 volts AC rms).

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD is versatile and can be used in numerous applications, including coupling the primary structure (i.e. pipes, valves, pumps, etc.) in series through the DC-Decoupler to Gradient Control Systems.

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD is typically utilized within:

  • Oil and Gas Transmission Pipelines
  • Refinery and Petrochemical Industries
  • Electrical Utilities
  • Tank Farm/Oil Depot Facilities.

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD product advantages are:

  • Independent Product Certification – ATEX/IECEx
  • Rustrol®, an Industry Leader for Safe DC Isolation
  • Fail-Safe Design; Grounding Criteria Assured
  • Compact; Ready to Mount Design
  • Maintenance-Free Performance
  • Eliminate “Step and Touch” Potential Risk
  • Maintains coating Stress Voltages within Acceptable Limits
  • No additional Mounting Accessories required for Installation
  • No Structure Compromise Required for Installation (i.e. Flange Drilling)

The Rustrol® DC-Decoupler Model: DCD is available in common models with rated AC Fault Current exposure parameters. DC Voltage Thresholds and other Operating Parameters are to be specified by the “End-User”, please review the Selection Guide within the DC-Decoupler Brochure.

Rustrol® Systems are manufactured in accordance with ICCC’s Quality Assurance Program, based on product “type” testing by an Independent Test Facility, all products are CE Listed.
